Dr. Ting-An Wang, Former Director of Science and Technology Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural office (TECO) in San Francisco, also the Director of the Representative Office of National Science Council in San Francisco. Dr. Wang was the Director of Science and Technology Division of TECO in Canada between 2007 and 2012. Prior to his foreign post, Dr. Wang was the Executive Secretary of Science & Technology advisory Group(STAG), the Executive Yuan, Taiwan, which is responsible for the planning of the national science and technology policy, the strengthening of the national innovation system and the development of emerging industrial technology strategy. He also served as the CEO of National Information & Communication Security Taskforce (NICST), as well as the Executive Secretary of National Information and Communication Initiative (NICI) committee, and actively promoted National Development Programs such as e-Taiwan, M-Taiwan and UNS project, moving Taiwan into a Ubiquitous Networks Society. He has served as Researcher of Civil Aeronautic Administration (CAA), Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC) and was also a Science and Technology Advisor for Advanced Operational Aviation Weather System (AOAWS) of CAA. His areas of works included “Low-level Windshear Detection”, “Aviation Weather Forecast Model” and “Clear Air Turbulence Warning Technology”. Dr. Wang graduated from National Taiwan University in 1988 and received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, USA, in 1996.
